Austin, TX (April 7, 2025) – This week, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is hosting the 2025 Mobility Conference and International Bus Roadeo in Austin, TX. The event brings together hundreds of bus and paratransit professionals to discuss industry trends, unveil new products, exchange best practices, and celebrate excellence in bus operations.

The opening day featured remarks from Amy Jo Martin, New York Times best-selling author, podcaster, and Founder and CEO of Renegade Global, a human transformation company that unlocks positive disruption for both individuals and corporations. Attendees also have the chance to explore exhibits showcasing cutting-edge mobility innovations and engage in networking sessions.

“APTA’s Mobility Conference is an important gathering for transportation leaders to share insights, build partnerships, and shape the future of mobility,” said APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas. “The conference unites our industry at a pivotal moment. We face tremendous challenges and opportunities with historic funding, transformative technology, and changing rider expectations. Together, we can convert challenges into innovations that will shape mobility for generations.”

In conjunction with the conference, APTA is hosting the International Bus Roadeo where bus operators and maintenance teams demonstrated their expertise through a series of challenges designed to assess their skills and commitment to safety standards.

This year’s Roadeo has 380 participants, including 75 bus drivers, 50 maintenance teams, and 44 combined teams, competing in events emphasizing safety, efficiency, and professionalism in public transit vehicle operations. Winners will be honored at a special awards dinner on April 8.

“The Bus Roadeo celebrates the excellence and professionalism prevalent in our industry’s bus operations,” Skoutelas said. “Our operators and maintenance teams are crucial for providing safe, dependable, and efficient transportation services to communities nationwide. The Roadeo honors their skill and commitment to both our industry and their communities.”
