Tomorrow morning, at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time, the Senate will vote on the Jones-McSally Amendment No. 1141 to the minibus appropriations bill (H.R. 3055).

The Jones Amendment permanently blocks a $1.2 billion cut to transit formula funding. It blocks a 12 percent across-the-board funding cut to every transit agency in the nation in fiscal year (FY) 2020. To view a table that shows the direct impact to your state, please click here.

Last week, 32 national associations—from APTA and local governments to manufacturers, the construction industry, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce— sent a letter to leaders of the Senate Committee on Appropriations expressing strong support for this bipartisan effort to block the automatic cut to transit funding in the Senate minibus appropriations bill. In addition, on October 30, the Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC), a coalition of 31 national associations and trade unions, sent a letter to the Senate expressing strong support for the Jones-McSally Amendment. To view the TCC letter, please click here.
