AATA, TWU Reach Agreement

This Week in Passenger Transport

March 3, 2008

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority in Ann Arbor, MI, reached a new five-year collective bargaining agreement with Transport Workers Union Local 171 on Feb. 20. TWU represents AATA’s bus drivers, mechanics, service workers, and call takers.

The previous five-year contract had expired June 30, 2007, but union employees continued working under the wages and conditions of the old contract while the two sides worked toward negotiating a new agreement. The new agreement is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2008, and will be in effect through Dec. 31, 2012.
