PATH Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary

The Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation, serving New York and New Jersey, observed the 100th anniversary of rail service on its route with free rides on Feb. 25.

The Hudson and Manhattan Railroad introduced service on the line between Newark and Manhattan on Feb. 25, 1908. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey took over operation of the system from the bankrupt H&M Railroad in 1962.
