The purpose of the steering committee is to work in support of a stronger business environment in the public transportation industry by developing strategies that, when implemented, lead to improved buying and selling practices in the transit industry; provide the industry with better products at a fair cost and strengthen the business climate of the industry; ensure the integrity of the procurement process; and result in an industry workforce that understands the importance and benefits of good procurement practices.
