The Marketing and Communications Committee's mission is to create maximum
support and use of public transportation and the benefits it brings to communities
and customers, promote excellence in marketing and communications in the public
transportation industry, support APTAs strategic plan and be APTAs
primary advisor on issues that pertain to the image of public transportation,
broaden the understanding and integration of marketing as a critical component
in the management of public transportation, enhance the skills of public transportation
marketing practitioners, and promote the exchange of marketing-related information
and techniques. The committee directs the annual AdWheel Awards program, Communities
In Motion, and the annual APTA Marketing & Communications Workshop; develops
sessions in the area of marketing and communications for all APTA conferences;
and led the development of the Public Transportation Partnership for Tomorrow
program.
The Steering Committee is composed of three officers and 31 members; membership
is determined by election by members of the committee.
