NOMINATIONS FOR APTA OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS |
On behalf of the APTA Nominating Committee, I am pleased to announce the Call
for Nominations for APTA Officers and Directors for the coming year, 2008- 2009. The
election will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2008, and the new officers and directors will
take office during the 2008 APTA Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA.
If you wish to nominate someone or if you have a personal desire to serve, please
complete the enclosed Nomination and Authorization Form and return it with a transmittal
letter addressed to the attention of the nominating committee and in care of the APTA
offices in Washington, D.C. The Nomination and Authorization Form must be
completed in full and returned to APTA no later than 5 p.m. Eastern Time July 23,
2008. The form is also available on the web at
http://www.apta.com/about/committees/exec_nominations/index.cfm. The information
requested in the form is very important, as this information will assist the nominating
committee in selecting people who will do the best job for the association and the industry.
The nominating committee will meet on Monday, August 4, 2008 to select a recommended
slate of nominees for election at the APTA Annual Business Meeting, Sunday, October 5,
during the annual meeting. (List of nominating committee members is also on the APTA
web site.)
Also enclosed for your information are a roster of the nominating committee
and a list of current office holders with information regarding vacancies to be filled. Also,
please note the election campaign guidelines outlined in the Nomination and Authorization
