APTA Invites You to Share Your Story

Video from Tri-Rail, of a man speaking from the inside of a train car. Telling Our Story

This summer the transit industry is out in full force promoting the many benefits of public transportation and capturing stories of how transit plays a critical role in the lives of Americans.

We need all members to get involved in this important initiative. To make things easier, we've created a new Telling Our Story website for you to share your stories. We've also created an online toolkit to assist you with planning your local Telling Our Story events. Share your testimonials today!

You can also help by promoting the national public transportation online petition.

 Happy Anniversary ADA!

Passenger Transport front page, with headline about ADA Anniversary

With the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990, Americans gained the freedom to travel using more and better public transportation.

Passenger Transport took a look back at how the industry has improved accessibility to transit services and facilities for people with disabilities over the last 20 years — and a look forward to what lies ahead.

Check out Passenger Transport to read perspectives from APTA members and advocates for people with disabilities on what ADA has meant to our industry.
